To qualify for the Volvo Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle Program, a vehicle must be no more than five model years old, receive a clear Carfax® vehicle history report (meaning that it has never been in a major collision and has an accurate odometer reading), and covered fewer than 80,000 miles. That's one of the higher mileages in the CPO business, which shows how much confidence Volvo has in the strength of its products.

It's worth mentioning that the independent Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recommends Volvo cars as some of the best used vehicles for teenagers. Inspection

• Examination covers more than 130 points. As an indication of Volvo's attention to detail, tire tread depth is tested at 12 separate points.

Warranty

• Warranty set up for coverage over 7 years / 100,000 miles, taken from the sale date when the car was new. It covers engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, drive axles, electrical system, and air conditioning.
